DOH LIFTS SMOKE ADVISORY RELATED TO FIRE AT ABC TOWING & PARTS IN PEARL CITY
026-131
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 1, 2026
HONOLULU — The Hawaiʻi Department of Health (DOH) has lifted the smoke advisory issued in response to the fire at ABC Towing & Parts in Pearl City.
DOH environmental health staff monitored conditions at ABC Towing & Parts and surrounding areas throughout Wednesday afternoon and evening, as well as this morning. Air monitoring indicates that air quality is at safe levels.
While the fire has been contained, it is not fully extinguished. DOH advises residents to remain vigilant and continue to monitor conditions around the property. If smoke is observed, residents should take precautions to limit exposure, including staying indoors, closing windows and doors — and setting air conditioning systems to recirculate. Individuals with respiratory or heart conditions, as well as children and older adults, should take extra precautions.
Anyone experiencing symptoms such as headache, dizziness, nausea, confusion, shortness of breath or chest pain should seek medical attention as appropriate. DOH will continue to be on-site at ABC Towing today to monitor fire response, air quality conditions and conditions at Waiawa Stream. DOH will provide additional information if conditions change.
